It's about time! Ali's first haircut...

Today, Ryan was so wonderful to come home for his lunch break and watch Rhodes so I could calmly take Ali to get her first haircut. (the luxuries of living a mile from the office! I love having Ryan home for lunch most days!) We headed up to Pigtails & Crewcuts at the Avenues and it was such a cute little place. It is crazy to me that Ali is almost 2 and just now getting her first haircut (not that she has that much hair anyway - just that it is long in the back and short on top aka mullet), but since Ali was pretty much bald until she turned one (or later?), the time has finally come for a haircut! There were tons of things to distract a little toddler like Little Einsteins on the TV or toys to play with and all was well until the time came for Ali to get into a car/airplace/chair for the haircut. She got terrified and clung to me! I honestly would have thought Ali would have LOVED being in a car so I was a little surprised but I think she was just nervous about a new place and was not sure what was going on. It took a little bribery including a lollipop and a "supergirl" cape (Ali kept saying "I super!" and is still saying it! ha!), and the channel turned to Little Einsteins to convince her to hop in the fun airplane - but, once she was in, she was perfect and loved every second of it. We even got a piece of her hair and a cute picture taken at the store in a card to remember this momentous occasion by! :) I think Ali will be excited next time we head back to get a hair cut. She even got mad at Baxter when we got home for jumping near her head and messing up her hair "No! Hair cut, Baxter!" - she is soo precious to me!

Patricks hit the Pumpkin Patch!

This past weekend was a busy weekend for the Patrick family. It's not that we even got that much accomplished but with a newborn to feed every 2 - 3 hours (from start to start), I feel like we did not stop going all weekend! It is amazing how much longer it takes just to get 4 people out of the house! :) We were excited to head to Berry Patch Farms again this year to see the pumpkin patch. Although it is a little ways to the boonies, it was worth the trip! As soon as we got there and started to walk in, though, Rhodes decided she was hungry (poor girl!) so we walked around for a little bit before Rhodes and I had to head back to the car to nurse. We checked out the animals and walked out to the pumpking patch (Ali did not want to ride the hayride - she was too scared! Next year, maybe!). Ali was so excited to be there and it was such a fun thing for the four of us to enjoy together!! After Rhodes and I headed to the car, daddy and Ali went around and played on the playset (probably the highlight of Ali's trip - she just LOVES to swing and slide - she would do it 24/7 if she could!), got Ali's face painted, and bought a funnel cake & boiled peanuts for the road. Even though we started getting ready around 9 a.m. - I was scared we would not make it back for the 3:30 kickoff (UGA/LSU) but we made it with a little time to spare - what a fun morning, though!! Here are some pictures from our fun morning at the pumpkin patch! Since Rhodes was hanging out in the Baby Bjorn all morning, she did not get many pictures - so I added another picture of our THREE week old (really?? Where does time go!) from this weekend at the top! We can't wait until next year!

Life with two girls is going pretty well - we are slowly but surely getting adjusted. Rhodes is nowhere near sleeping through the night and that is probably the hardest part. I feel so drained by the end of the day with nursing and knowing that I will be up in a few hours - but, oh, it is worth it! I do look forward to the day when the nighttime feedings go for a little longer in between, though! :) Ali still is in love with her baby sister and I can't wait to watch this grow and grow!! I love my two little princesses and I can already see the different personalities between the two. I hope to write more and have more fun things to say once we get more in the groove and a little more sleep, etc. :) We're looking forward to the fun times ahead!

Halloween Parade

Yesterday, both Ali and Rhodes were invited to the 3rd Annual Kennesaw Avenue Halloween parade - hosted by the Hunter family. We went last year (our first year since Ali was not born yet the year before!) and were really looking forward to it again this year. There were so many cute little costumes and fun people there - it was such a treat! Here are a few pictures from the afternoon!

A few shots of Dorothy in her wagon - crusing down Kennesaw Avenue (I didn't have time to decorate this wagon this year with a newborn!)

Outside of the nursing home that we also paraded through!

A glimpse at some of the people on the parade - although this picture does not do it justice - there were TONS there!

Rhodes sleeping through the parade - can't wait until next year!

Happy 2nd birthday Libby!

Ali's fun friend, Libby, had her 2nd birthday party this past weekend!! It was a Halloween theme and her mom, Emily, did a great job to make everything perfect! (I wish she could lend me some of creativity to plan Ali's 2nd b-day party - although it looks like we will be going low key this year with our crazy family of 4!) Ali had been looking forward to the party for awhile and had SOO much fun!! There was face painting, a moon bounce (which Ali loved!!!), a pinata, yummy Halloween treats and lots of fun to be had! Here are some pictures of our fun time!

Ali is going to be Dorothy (from the Wizard of Oz) for Halloween and she could not wait to put on her costume. She even used her pound puppy as Todo (not sure how you spell it) in her little basket - I thought she looked precious! Here are some pictures we got at our house (aka chaos) before walking over to Libby's party!

All of the kids posing for a group picture - of course Ali had to sit by her boyfriend, Bennett!! (even though it looks like she is hiding in the corner!)

Dazing out!

Fun in the moonbounce!

Minnie Mouse - the birthday girl!

Friends for life ;)

Ali giving the birthday girl a big hug (I think this was the 3rd take at this picture - we had to keep telling them to do it again b/c the camera was not ready! :)) Thank you for having us, Libby! We love you! :)

Happy 175th Anniversary Marietta FUMC!

This morning, we ventured out with both of the girls to the 175th anniversary celebration at our church. You can read more about it by going here: http://mariettafumc.org/templates/System/details.asp?id=43733&PID=622748&Style=

We had church service outside by the new pavillon and it was so special to me! I loved having both of the girls there with us - since this was such a big day for our church! It made it extra special b/c the beautiful new pavillon was dedicated in honor of my grandparents, Steve and Virginia Tumlin. When Dr. Sam mentioned that during the sermon, it really touched me b/c I am so proud of our church and for our history within the church. I only hope we can continue to support and be apart of this amazing church and its history for many more generations and years to come!

Here are the only pictures I got from today of the girls out. The last picture is of the new pavillon - isn't it beautiful?

Weekend Roundup

Not much time, but here are a few pictures from our weekend. We actually started getting out and about this weekend!! Woohoo!!

Rhodes trying out her swing...

First bath!!

My mom (Mimi) and I spent the day with the girls yesterday as my dad and Ryan were at the UGA game. (Go dawgs!) There was a little Halloween festival going on on the square and we decided to venture out with the girls to check it out. This really was my first outing out with them (other than to Target that morning - which actually went smoothly - thank the Lord!) and Rhodes slept the whole time and Ali really enjoyed it - although she was scared of all of the scarecrows. Here are some pictures of Ali checking out someone dressed up like a spider. (Her mama personally thought the costume was scary!)

Later that night, Ryan and I went to a fun wedding of two friends of ours that I have known for a very long time. (Groom at least since elementary school and bride at least since high school) The reception was at the Capitol City Club and it was so nice to be there and just out on the town in general - even if just for a short while. Here is a picture of daddy dressed up with his baby girl!

This morning, all 5 of us ended up in the bed together at one point (all of us and Baxter!) and Ali loves getting to lay next to her baby sister. Here are a few pictures of the sweet sisters!
