Princess Ali

On Sunday, we had lunch at the Druid Hills Country Club with some of my family. We were celebrating Ty's 30th birthday and my cousin, Stevens, birthday! Here are some pictures of Ali hanging out and playing with her cousins. (I guess her second cousins?) She did not stop playing the entire time - I think she loved the attention she got from the slightly older kids, plus she made sure to take laps around the "big people" table so everyone could see her. :) This little girl does not get a bit of attention!

Ali's cousin, Virginia, put a crown on her head! (Thanks to Cousin Gibby for letting her borrow the crown!)

Princess Ali... She actually kept the crown on for a little bit - much to my surprise! But, then, of course she realized it was there!

What is this thing??
Playing with some pipe cleaners
Cousin Virginia gives Ali a pipe cleaner magic wand!
Playing with cousins John Charles and Ernest (and their pipe cleaner magic wands). She chased John Charles (who is 7) around trying to get his wand - already a little flirt!

Lil sprout!

We had a very full morning yesterday - went to church and Ali played hard - then to lunch with cousins and Ali had the best time - pretty much ran in circles the entire time and played with her older cousins. She loved all the attention - but, as soon as we got in the car, she crashed hard! About 4 hours later, she woke up still groggy and dazed and I tried to put her hair in a "ponytail" - turned out to be more of a Cindy Lou Who sprout, though! You have to look very closely in the pictures below (or click on them to enlarge them) to see Ali's first little sprout! You can also tell how tired she still is, even after a 4 hour nap!!

Lots of snow!

We had a downpour of snow all morning/afternoon here. It was so fun to watch the snow come down - and Ali loved it! Here are a few pictures of snow day #2. Ready to go outside and play!
Trying to be patient while I take some pictures....
Ali was not quite sure how to walk around in the snow - since it came up over her shoes and almost to her little knees! :) Any time she started trying to walk, she moved very carefully - watching her feet at all times.

We were not out too long since it was too cold - but it sure is exciting (and so pretty!) to see all of the snow covering our house/yard/cars outside.

Let it snow!

In my last post about our snow - the snow did not show up in the pictures! Here are some more pictures of that day (Wednesday) and the snow falling! Daddy's home! Time for some more fun in the snow!

Our front yard - Ali is all bundled up and checking out the snow with her daddy. (In the corner of the picture)
Playing in the snow!

Happy New Year!

Since it's been awhile since I've written a post - I thought I would just sum up the New Year really quick. Ali is growing up so fast - and such a joy in our lives! She is learning new words all the time and running around the house, playing with Baxter, her toys, her Mama's purse, crayons, etc from when she wakes until when she goes to bed. She loves her Cookie Monster and Elmo dolls and loves saying "Mel-Mo!" - it sounds so cute when she says it! (and she thinks Cookie monster is also Mel-Mo - I guess since they both laugh!)

My favorite thing that Ali has discovered recently is her shadow!! A week ago, Ali and I were walking near the square and I was letting her walk in a church parking lot. I noticed her looking down and I saw that she probably was looking at her shadow. She started slowing down and checking it out and I told her it was her shadow. Then, I realized she wasn't sure quite what to think of it and she started trying to run - to run away from it. It was soo funny!! She was still looking down at it and realized that the shadow was not going anywhere - no matter how far she ran! She, then, got the most terrified look on her face and started freaking out and I picked her up. It was sad to see her freak out - but probably the cutest thing I have ever seen! Since then, we try to look for her shadow and she points it out - but, she is still not sure about it if she can not get it to go away! What a smart little girl!

Praise the Lord for a New Year - to start anew and to share it with such a precious little girl that Ryan and I adore so much! I am so excited about 2008 and what it has to bring! 2007 was a bittersweet one for me - but, Ali pulled me through it with many joys/firsts/laughs to get us through the sorrows. I can't wait to see what 2008 has in store for us and what is yet to come. May 2008 bless each and everyone of you and your families.

Ali's first sight of snow!!!

Happy New Year!! Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!! It's been way too long since I updated the blog - mainly b/c our camera has been out of batteries and we have just been forgetting to get new ones. :( Thank goodness, on my way home from work today, I remembered to get them - just in time to catch Ali's first snow! My mom called a little while ago to tell us to look out the window - snooooowww!!! I couldn't wait to take Ali outside and see what she thought - and she looooved it! (just wait until she actually sees it on the ground) We ran and put her coat on and went outside to play for a few minutes. Here are some pictures of Ali checking out her first snow - ever.

Let's see what this stuff that is falling from the sky tastes like!

Ali knew this was exciting (maybe also b/c I was soo excited to see the flurries) -

But, wasn't sure exactly what to think of it! What exactly is this stuff??
Fun in my first snow!! The whole sky outside looked white - I wish it showed up in the pictures. :(

Look Mama, snow! Ali kept saying "Yay!" and "snow!" in her cute little voice. I wish I had a video so you could hear that. Is this white stuff what you're talking about??

Yay for snow! Ali clapping her hands in excitement.
I am pretty sure that this is Baxter's first snow too - and, as you can see, he loved every second of it! He just ran in circles around the backyard and tried playing with Ali. Sweet Baxter.
Trying to get a view of the front of our house - also our first snow in this house! Baxter standing guard, of course! (Don't mind the dead ferns - embarrassing!) Probably more to add later.......
