Mid-Winter Break 2013

Beck's birthday happens to fall on our Mid-Winter break and we decided to take a mini-vacation to get away for a bit!  We headed down on Wednesday to Savannah and then spent the rest of the week/weekend in St. Simons for our little getaway!

We had fun exploring with our little family...we started off with a walk down River Street after checking into our hotel.  Rhodes and Ali were our tour guides....

The tour guide and the model...

 This one cracks me up...

Then off to the Pirates House for dinner...
And no trip to Savannah (with kids) would be complete without multiple trips to River Street Sweets...definitely the girls' favorite spot!

The next day, we headed to Savannah's outdoor Children's museum.  The weather was so nice and we had a great time!

After lots of fun stops, we decided to see a little history (since we were in Savannah, after all!) and stopped at Fort Jackson...
And one final stop on our way out of town at Paula Deen's The Lady and Sons restaurant.  Lucky for us, we didn't stop until 3:45 to have lunch, so we got to head right in! The girls automatically posed like this...
Beck kept trying to pull her hair!

We spent the rest of our time relaxing in St. Simons.  As much fun as we had in Savannah, it was nice to not have anywhere we had to be or anything we had to see and separate bedrooms for everyone to sleep in! :)  We had 80 degree weather on Saturday and enjoyed running around at the beach...we were actually hot!   Beck felt his new little hairs blow in the wind for the first time.. :)
He LOVED the beach and wanted to crawl all over
 And jump right in!
The girls loved it too...
They would have stayed out there for hours running around!

 Especially this beach bum!
Who was NOT very happy when it was time to go! :)

Ali's first visit from the tooth fairy!

Our little Ali B has been hoping for months that she would lose her first tooth...and it finally happened!  Her bottom front tooth became lose a little over a week ago and she has been wiggling and wiggling it until it was finally lose enough to be pulled.  She begged Ryan to try and it came right out on Saturday night.  Despite bad thunderstorms that night, she stayed in her bed in hopes of a visit from the tooth fairy and the tooth fairy prevailed!  It was a very big day for our little girl and she is so excited to show everyone her tooth ( we wrote a letter to the tooth fairy to ask for us to keep the first one)!  It never ceases to amaze me how fast this little girl is growing up and what a joy her now toothless smile is to all of us!

Her smile before (when her tooth was loose)
And right after her little bitty tooth came out! :)

Tumlin cousins

After Beck's birthday bash (and his post-cake bath), we finally got a few pictures of Beck with his cousin, Madison.  These two are 9 months apart and I know they are going to be best buds one day!  I am extra thrilled because Ty and Ashley just bought a house in Marietta and are moving in in a few weeks!!  Their house is on our bus route and Ali already has decided she will be getting off there some to hang out with Aunt Ashley and Madison.  Lots of fun in store for these cousins and we can't wait to have them down the street to grow up with!

Look who's one!

Hello fastest year of my life!   I truly can not believe my baby boy is 1!!!  He is our little sunshine - he loves to smile, laugh, crawl around (not walking yet!), climb stairs, play with his sisters and Baxter, and play with toys. His favorite thing to do is go to music class - he lights up when Ms. Arie starts singing hello to everyone! He does not mind riding in carpools and does not meet strangers...he loves to smile at anyone that will look at him!  He is a busy boy and I know when he starts walking our hands will be very full, but to say we all adore this little cutie would be an understatement!  What a great year it has been and how thankful we all are that God blessed us with this baby boy!!  Happy first birthday Beck-o!!

We started celebrating with a family party the night before his birthday - Beck had so much fun!

He loves his new birthday car...taking it for a spin on his birthday morning!

Not a good picture...but, the tradition continues...birthday dinner at La Parilla!
Beck is very blessed to have a wonderful group of friends to grow up with!  A lot of his friends are also 2nd and 3rd children so playdates do not happen near enough...but I'm sure one day they will all be the best of friends! :)  We had a few over for a birthday playdate.  I had the genius idea to take a group photo at about 10:30, after they had been there for about an hour (those that were left) and were probably all ready for nap time.  It really cracked me up!!  Everyone was crying - except Beck who had a huge grin on his face - and the only reason he probably was not crying was because he was busy playing with a balloon! :)

And, finally, a few 12 month photos to close out his first year!
In his daddy's outfit that he also wore on his first birthday!
