It has been a busy, but fun weekend - with lots of fun Easter activities! I love this time of year and like getting to participate in fun Easter activities again now that we have children. We started off the weekend early on Thursday at Ali's friend AnnaKate's house for an Easter egg playdate. They dyed some eggs, hunted for some eggs, ate pizza, played, decorated/ate cupcakes and even took an Easter basket to an elderly neighbor. It was a full morning!
On Good Friday, Ryan was off work so I went in and worked for the day! (Only 3 more days - yay!!) Ryan was such a great daddy and played with the girls all morning, picked out their clothes for the day :), and took them to Monkey Joes. As you can see below, Monkey Joes tired these girls out!
While Ali napped, Ryan got in a little play time with Rhodeso!
Ali woke up to an Easter basket from her Aunt Ashley and Uncle Ty! Ashley is so creative/thoughtful and always remembers the girls on holidays, etc. The basket was so cute and Ali and Rhodes loved them!
Ryan of course found plenty of time to watch the Masters during all the crazy activities this weekend! (and he is still watching them as I type - pretty much in the same position, with Rhodes in the same position as this picture!)
We woke up bright and early on Saturday to head to the country club for an Easter Egg Hunt! It started (or was supposed to start) at 9 a.m. sharp and let me tell you, we were running out the door! Why is it so hard to get everyone ready and out the door and somewhere by 9?? I guess we are all snoozers in this house and early for us is 7:30! We made it though and it was a lot of fun! The front of the golf course was covered in eggs for kids 3 and under so Ali had a hay day picking them all up (and dropping them towards the end since her basket was overflowing!) Next year I'll have to remember to bring an extra large basket! We had a delicious breakfast at the club after the hunt, got to see the Easter bunny, got to jump in a moonwalk they had inside the club - it was so fun! Reminds me of my days growing up and going to the egg hunt at MCC too!
Rhodes loves to give this look when she is getting sleepy - eyebrows up!
Matching sisters with their daddy!
There was a lady who came around and made balloon animals and made Ali a flower (which she loved!)
Me and my sweet girls! (Getting us all to look at the camera is quite the task!)
Ali took over Rhodes Easter basket too - both filled with eggs! In this picture she has spotted the Easter bunny! She told me she didn't want to see him so I wasn't sure how she was going to react....
But she quickly handed me both the bags and ran to him with her hands out to give him a big hug!
After naptime, we headed to our friend Pres and Caroline's (and Brittany and Ben!) annual Easter Egg hunt! It was so much fun and their grandmother (Doe Doe, who we love!) was dressed up like an Easter bunny! Ali got to ice some cookies, hunt some eggs, take a swing at a pinata and hang out with friends. We pulled her out of her bed to go and let's just say she was not the happiest egg hunter when we got there - but we ended up being some of the last ones there and had such a fun time! Rhodes was along for the ride and always the trooper! She ended up passing out in daddy's arms (same as this morning!) before we left. She never ceases to amaze us!
Bennett was there - so that cheered sleepy Ali up a little!
And they're off!
Ryan showing Ali which pieces of pinata candy to pick up (I think he wanted some for himself!)
It was a full day of fun and ended last night when we had Anna Margaret and Matthew over for dinner! It definitely was not a problem getting the girls to go to bed last night after all the activities! I will post pictures of Easter (today) soon!
