Rhodes' big day!

Yesterday, Rhodes was christened at our church! It was such a special day for our little family and for our sweet baby girl! I was so excited that it was "her" day - and luckily Ali was not too jealous - she just kept saying it was Ali & Rhodes' birthday and she wanted me to put candles on the cake. I was so proud of both of my little girls during the ceremony. Rhodes started waving at Dr. Sam as he talked and even laughed (with excitement) as he talked about her. She did so good and I was one proud mama! :) Here are just some pictures from our special day!

Family photos before church. I couldn't pick which one I liked better since Rhodes is happy in the first (it is her day, and all!) and Ali is smiling in the second. One day we will have 4 smiles in a picture!A comparitive family photo - 2/11/07 when Ali was christened. She was almost exactly 3 months whereas Rhodes is a little over 3.5 (will be 4 months in a week!). Rhodes in her Christening gown. I wish we had gotten more pictures and better ones, but we were rushed to get there and then I forgot to take any afterwards. The Christening gown has been passed down in my family for many years. My dad even wore it (he may have been the first? Or my aunt?) when he was christened at our church (although it was in a different location at the time), my brother and I were also christened in it, as well as cousins and their children. It is so special to me to have this history and that now three generations of Tumlins have been christened in the same gown, at the same church, where we still belong. Another comparitive picture to Ali (with my cousin, Brooks - who has also worn the gown - along with her children) in the gown on her Christening day almost 2 years ago. I wish we had better pictures b/c I can't tell if they look alike!
Ali giving her baby sister a sweet kiss!
Family photo at the church altar. This is also where Ryan and I got married in 2005, my brother & sister in law were married last year and my parents were married in 1977 - I obviously love the history of it all and want to make sure to write it down so the girls know all of the history one day! My aunt was actually the first bride to get married at the altar when the church moved to this location.
Some of our food...Rhodes' cake - Gabriel's strawberry cake - my favorite! (it was our wedding cake too!)
Rhodes and her Godmother, Anna Margaret Griffin Woods.
Rhodes and her Aunt Ashley
Ali and her Godfather - Uncle Ty!
Uncle Sig (Rhodes' Godfather) and Frances

It was a day we will never forget and I am so proud of both of our little girls! God bless you, sweet baby Rhodes! We love you!
