First birthday fun!

We think birthdays are a BIG deal around here (doesn't everyone?) - here are some pictures from Rhodes' big day!

Starting off her first birthday right...balloon, birthday muffin, and some singing and dancing (to Birthday by the Beatles, of course)

You say it's my birthday?

Sisters celebrating/dancing!

Birthday strawberry muffin!

Happy birthday to me!!
Ryan, Birthday girl Rhodes, Ali and I went to lunch at Marietta Pizza Company for birthday lunch! Some days, I can not decide if Rhodes is trying to give up her morning nap or if she just prefers to go down later....unfortunately, she had not napped and ended up falling asleep...literally, while eating a piece of pizza.....

When I got her out of the car to transfer to her crib, she briefly woke up and realized there was still a pepperoni piece in her mouth and started chewing it up again, then fell right back to sleep! She was one tired birthday girl!

After lunch/naps, I took the girls to Build a Bear at Town Center (woohoo!) to make Rhodes a bear. Ali picked out two bears for the girls - a pink one for Ali to match her pink dress and a blue one for Rhodes. Ali named both of the bears too - Ali's bear is named Rhodes and Rhodes' bear is named Ali. They were so cute in there and had so much fun - Rhodes just walked around and around holding on tight to her new bear!

After dinner, we headed to our favorite neighborhood restaurant, La Parilla! At the end, they came and sang Happy Birthday to Rhodes and tried to put the heavy hat on her head. She was such a trooper and did not cry - just looked at them like "What in the world are you doing?" and "What are you trying to put on my head?" - too cute! She bent over as far as she could so they wouldn't put it on her!

Let me have some of that!

We came home for her first taste of birthday cake! Rhodes loved it every time we sang "Happy birthday!". Ali and I made her a big cupcake cake - not the prettiest thing that's ever been made, but I'm sure it still tasted good! :)

Rhodes was surprisingly very ladylike eating the cake - she ate it very slowly and did not make too big of a mess (or eat that much). The taste of sopapillas at dinner probably didn't help!
Yum, yum!
I love this birthday girl!
Me and my girls (best picture we could get - hard to get to active girls to sit down for too long!)
Daddy and the birthday girl!
We had such a fun day celebrating our FIRST birthday girl!!! Can not get over the fact that my littlest baby is 1 - loving every second of this little girl!
